Definitely the best hostel experience during my 3 month trip around Europe. Darren has created such an amazing environment to enjoy your stay in Tropea. Met so many amazing travellers during my stay at Pangea, everyone is super friendly and the vibe is amazing. Hostel location is great, a short walk to several beautiful beaches, super market next door and a short walk to the main town. Darren and his staff are very accommodating and helpful, the rooms were super clean and the facilities were great.

There is nowhere else better to stay in Tropea as a solo traveller, I will definitely be return sometime soon. Thanks Daz

This hostel is a solo traveller's dream. Along with it’s welcoming and colourful theme, It’s the perfect balance of staying somewhere that’s social, cozy, clean, private, with touches of luxuries that most other hostels don’t offer; such a complimentary espresso coffee, complimentary towels, privacy curtains, and the most comfortable bed hostel bed I’ve ever slept on.

I’ve been travelling for two months now, and have stayed at over two dozen hostels, but Pangea Tropea Hostel is by far my favourite. Shout out to the owner, Darren, who has put his heart and soul into this place to make it an exceptional and memorable place to stay. He truly cares about the needs of his guests and such a cool guy to get to know if you get the chance. Needless to say, next time I’m in Tropea, I will be staying here again.

The hostel has such an amazing atmosphere. The owner Darren and the other guests were super welcoming and we had a lot of fun together. I met so many interesting people and exchanged many great stories. Darren and Marc also give great tips about what to see in the area and how to get there.

The hostel is clean, has everything you need, feels really safe, and Darren goes out of his way to make sure everybody has everything they need. The kitchen is well equipped and there even is a BBQ guests can use.

The beds are comfortable, are equipped with individual curtains, a personal light and a phone holder. There are also plenty of wall plugs and USB plugs to charge your devices. The personal locker box that allows you to charge your devices while keeping them locked is an outstanding idea. The bathrooms are big enough and clean.

Darren took care of my luggage after I had checked out which I really appreciated. All in all, everything feels easy going and it's definitely among my favourite hostels I ever stayed at. Thank you so much for this outstanding place, Darren.

✨Magical outdoor garden space with a BBQ, loungers, and full kitchen. Perfect location just a walk down to the beach. From the moment you enter you feel a light festive atmosphere — a true travelers destination. Even more special is the hostel bunny named Houdini who hops around the place munching on the plants and any food you might drop on the ground 🐰

In the rooms each bed has its own curtain so I could shut myself in when I wanted some privacy and each bed also has a USB wall plug so I could charge my phone while I slept and it was right next to me the whole time!

During our stay one of the other guests cooked a BBQ dinner for everyone. The place truly has that family vibe. I met some great people and made some amazing new friends.

Darren’s Hostel will stay in my heart for a lifetime. As my first hostel experience, first time in Europe, first time in Italy, Pangea was an absolute dream. Darren immediately treated me like a friend, he came to get me from the train station at night which I really was not expecting at all. He was so warm and loving, I really believe you don’t meet lots of people like this on this journey called life. Him and his beautiful hostel are one in a million. You can really feel the thought and effort that was poured in to this place.

The space is perfect, intimate and the people coming and going are absolutely always a vibe. I met so many great people. I thought the garden, various areas to sit and converse and kitchen were quite impressive particularly.

Mark was also so great & really welcoming and helpful. I absolutely loved staying here and will be back. Thank you Pangea.

Best hostel you’ll ever stay at! Daz has created the most amazing hostel, perfect set up, rooms, garden and kitchen but most importantly the VIBES. So many guests extending stays including me. I even sacked off puglia and came back the following week I couldn’t get enough. Tropea is a super special place everyone falls in love with and daz is the most accommodating host. Cant recommend enough and excited to see where this place goes in the future. Can’t wait to get back next summer!

A real oasis in Tropea, Darren has built a very chilled and homey place. Everyone was super friendly, especially his current volunteers/helping hands. Just 5 min. to the beach, 15 min. into the city center, well equipped kitchen, 2 min. to a very cheap supermarket, free coffee and just a great community!
